Communication data - Your messages to us, e.g. by email, via WhatsApp or to our chatbot “Mia”, and our replies. We use your personal data in particular for insurance advice, for quotes and comparisons, for submitting applications and managing your contracts under the broker mandate, for cashback, to process your request and contact you, to meet legal obligations and, if you have consented, for marketing messages and for analytics and advertising (see “Services we use”). miavita GmbH has appropriate security policies and procedures in place to protect personal data from unauthorized loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. However, despite all these security precautions, we cannot rule out a threat 100%.
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimization. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as required by the various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose no longer applies or these deadlines have expired, the corresponding data will be routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with legal requirements.
This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the requests you send to us as a customer. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. When SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
If you contact us by email or via a web form, we process your details in order to answer your request. Depending on the form, some information is required or optional. The information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and for possible follow-up questions. How long we keep your details is governed by the section “Deletion or blocking of data”.
Cookies are small files that make it possible to store specific information related to the device on the user's access device (PC, smartphone, etc.). On the one hand, they serve to make websites more user-friendly and thus serve the users (e.g. storage of login data). On the other hand, they serve to collect statistical data on website usage and to be able to analyze it for the purpose of improving the offer. Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option that restricts or completely prevents the storage of cookies. However, it should be noted that the use and in particular the user comfort are restricted without cookies.
You can deactivate cookies with the following links, which are provided by various browser providers:

We use the following services for our website www.miavita.ch and our app app.miavita.ch. The cookies they set are listed in our cookie policy. On the website, you can change or withdraw your choice in the cookie banner (CookieYes) at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer. On the website, without consent, to operate the website: Webflow (website hosting and receipt of the forms you submit), CookieYes (cookie banner and storage of your choice), Google Fonts (fonts), the content delivery networks jsDelivr, cdnjs (Cloudflare) and code.jquery.com (program libraries, e.g. for the date picker and the phone number field) and our own server (list of postcodes and places for the premium calculator). When the page loads, these providers receive technical data such as your IP address, information about your browser and the page you visit. Also without consent: Elfsight displays our Google reviews on the website and in the app and thereby receives technical data such as your IP address, information about your browser and the page you visit. Also without consent on some pages: Typeform provides the request forms on our pages about car, household contents and legal protection insurance and about retirement planning and life insurance, and thereby receives technical data such as your IP address and information about your browser, as well as the details you enter in the form. Viral Loops is loaded on the pages of our referral programme and our contest and thereby receives technical data such as your IP address, information about your browser and the page you visit and, if you sign up there, the details you enter in the sign-up form. When you submit your contact details in our premium calculator or save your calculation, we transmit your details (e.g. name, email address, phone number, address, dates of birth of the persons to be insured, your choices and the campaign parameters) via Google Apps Script to a Google spreadsheet that is connected to our CRM system Zoho CRM. For the calculation in the premium calculator, we send your details (e.g. postcode and place, names, dates of birth and gender of the persons to be insured, deductible, accident cover, desired start of insurance, current insurer and model) to our own server. If you open the link to your saved calculation, our server retrieves the saved details from Zoho CRM.
Google and Microsoft: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (UET) are loaded on every page of the website, even before you have made a choice in the cookie banner. Until you consent, storage for analytics and advertising is set to “denied” (Consent Mode); Google and Microsoft nevertheless receive technical data such as your IP address, information about your browser and the page you visit when these services load. If you consent to analytics or advertising, we allow storage for that purpose. With your consent to advertising, Google Ads may also receive, for a conversion (e.g. after you submit a form), details you entered on the page (e.g. email address or phone number) in hashed form. Only with your consent to advertising: Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms; measurement of our advertising on Meta). Only with your consent to analytics: PostHog (PostHog EU Cloud; usage analysis, session recording possible), Microsoft Clarity (session recording and heatmaps) and Zoho PageSense (an analytics service by Zoho). With this consent, PostHog (EU Cloud, Frankfurt) records your interactions on www.miavita.ch and app.miavita.ch as session replays. What you type into form fields is masked; the postcode and date-of-birth pickers and the upload of IDs and documents are not recorded. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings. Only with your consent to functional cookies: Calendly (appointment booking). Without this consent, appointment booking opens the calendly.com website in a new window. If you write to us via the WhatsApp link, WhatsApp (Meta) transmits your message.
In our app: the app and our backend run on servers of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Zurich region; our database for user accounts and cashback and the files you upload or sign are also stored there. We store further data, e.g. applications and chat histories, in the MongoDB Atlas database. For the electronic signature of applications, broker mandates and other documents we use SignWell, which receives the documents to be signed and the name and email address of the signatories. We send emails (e.g. codes and confirmations) via an email service. For the chatbot “Mia” and for reading policies you upload, we use an AI platform that processes your chat messages or the uploaded documents. If you log in with Google, Google receives the data needed for this and we receive your profile details from Google. We also transfer the details from the app's contact and registration forms and the email address you enter to log in to our lead list. We manage prospective customers (leads) in the CRM system Zoho CRM. In the app, too, we load analytics and advertising services only with your consent in the cookie banner (CookieYes): for analytics, PostHog (via our own server to the PostHog EU Cloud, with session replays as described above) and Google Analytics 4; for advertising, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel. If you consented to analytics when you made your application, our server also reports individual steps (e.g. application submitted, signature completed) to PostHog under your pseudonymous PostHog ID, without names, contact details or application content. Without consent, the app loads the icons of its user interface from the Iconify service, which thereby receives technical data such as your IP address and information about your browser. On the contact page and in the support area of your account, the app shows a Google Maps map without consent; Google thereby receives technical data such as your IP address and information about your browser. When you submit a form or follow a link to app.miavita.ch, we pass on the campaign parameters with which you reached our website (e.g. utm_source, utm_campaign, gclid) so that we can attribute the origin of your request or application. When you enter your postcode, date of birth and gender in the mini calculator on the website, we pass these details to the app so that it can calculate your premiums. Some of these providers also process data outside Switzerland, for example in the EU or in the USA.
