Yes, miavita is a FINMA-registered independent broker and our advisors are certified insurance advisors, who each year need to attend upskilling trainings and exams to ensure the highest quality standards and practices are adhered to.
Before any advising happens, our advisors properly inform you about our company with Article 45, which declares all the important information about our company, and how you can verify our company and advisors.
As an untied insurance intermediary, miavita is not tied to any single insurer, which gives us the freedom to offer you tailored advice. We work with numerous insurers on the Swiss market and can therefore find suitable solutions for your individual needs.

- Life insurance and pension provisions

Our company and advisors earn sales commissions and policy-management commissions, which are standard industry practices for the insurance industry.
Advisors do have targets, bonuses and promotional offers from our partners and our company, which will be communicated to you during a consultation.
Our mission is to ensure you get better insurance, whether that means you pay less or get better coverage for the same or more.
We invest in training our advisors on our values, the industry, and products and provide them with tools to ensure you receive a high-quality consultation.
We also have feedback mechanisms in place for customers to provide us with feedback to help us continuously improve.
Please read our privacy policy and cookie policy for more detailed information.
Important: miavita does not sell your data to third parties. We use the information you provide to offer you suitable insurance and to handle your requests and your communication with insurers. Our privacy policy explains what else we use data for.
We receive personal data through our own website, through recommendations from customers and from lead providers.
If you would like your data to be deleted, contact dpo@mia-vita.ch. We will then delete your data unless we are required by law to keep it.
At miavita we adhere to high quality standards. Find the most important criteria for choosing your insurance broker here:
1. FINMA registration: an untied insurance intermediary must be registered with FINMA. You can check our company in the public FINMA register.
2. Duty to Inform with Article 45 - Upon your first contact with an insurance advisor you will receive the "Duty to Inform" document known as "Article 45". Article 45 details how the broker handles your personal data, the privacy policy and the liability of selling insurance.
3. CICERO quality seal - Though the law was amended in 2025 and a FINMA registration suffices, you can check if your broker's advisors are registered in the "advisor-check" on the Cicero website. Registered members have a membership card.
Once you choose a broker, you give them a mandate to manage your insurance. You sign a power of attorney authorising the broker to negotiate with the insurers on your behalf. The broker then obtains quotes in the areas you require, compares them in terms of premiums and benefits and submits proposals to you.
Signing the mandate is a necessary step to help our company provide insurance services to you.
The mandate covers:
1. Granting of power of attorney (client)
As a client, you will be asked to grant the power of attorney which enables the broker to act on your behalf should you wish the broker to do so.
For example, if you want to switch insurance provider, you can notify your broker to contact the insurer and take care of the process for you.
2. Analysing risks and comparing your existing insurance policies; obtaining and comparing offers (broker)
The job of a broker is to understand your needs, how you are currently insured, find better offers and help you compare them.
3. Conclusion of contracts (customer)
As a client, you can conclude new insurance contracts via your broker.
4. Support in the event of a claim and in the event of changes (broker)
The broker can provide you support with claims, and help you make e.g. address or contact information changes, when you need it.
High-quality advice, based on a detailed assessment of your needs, combined with our expertise helps you get better insurance and save money.
Insurance is a complex topic, which can cost a lot of time and requires a lot of know-how. As an untied insurance intermediary, we help you find offers that match your needs.
In insurance you can save money in two ways, it really depends on your tolerance to risk.
A lower premium corresponds with less coverage. This means the risk that you have to pay the largest amount of medical expenses when they occur is greater. This is ok, if you stay healthy.
A higher premium corresponds with more coverage.
There are some basic ways to start optimising:
- Franchise / deductible
- Look for your region
- etc.
This can be a long and complex process, that's why it's useful to speak with an expert insurance advisor.
